Devon Berry is an Assistant Professor at the University of Cincinnati's College of Nursing. Through his research, he examines the relationship between religiousness, spirituality, and health outcomes. He is also interested in and researches determinants of global health. After receiving his B. S. N. from Cedarville University in Ohio, he continued his education at the Frances Payne Bolton (FPB) School of Nursing at Case Western Reserve University, where he completed his M.S.N. as a Family Nurse Practitioner. The relationships formed at the FPB School of Nursing created the opportunity for him to participate in both domestic and international mental health research, culminating in a year spent abroad consulting with nurse scientists in South Korea and Italy. Following this experience he began teaching psychiatric mental health nursing to B.S.N. students. After gaining several years of experience in this area, he left to pursue his Ph.D. at the University of Washington. Upon graduating, he joined the faculty at the University of Cincinnati where he has a growing program of research and is regarded as a favorite among his students. Dr. Berry lives with his wife in Dayton, Ohio and serves as a pastor in his local church
